Healing. That's what I've been focusing on this year. My definition of healing? "Being able to move on. Leave the past behind and forgive so that my wounds stop hurting."
Those of you who know me well, know I am from a broken family. And when your family is broken, you are too. Slowly and gently God has put back together the peices that were shattered on the floor of my heart. Yet even as God was putting those peices back, the devil was tearing others down. I was allowing myself to heal in some big ways but getting bitter and more broken in others. When I began my fitness journey the first of this year, I told my self and God that I was going to become whole in body and spirit. I did not realize what that would require of me. Now I know. Sometimes it is so hard to let go. This weekend I was focusing on what Jesus did for me and realized I can't forgive one person for something that was really pretty little in comparison, yet He...He forgave the whole world?????!!! So as I work my body every morning for 2 hours at the gym in hopes to get my "farm girl muscles" back, I'm focusing on working my spirit as well. Whith every curl I am allowing myself to let go. Each day I am asking God to help me forgive, and realizing that the more that I hold on to the things that hurt me the more hurt I become. The more I just get eaten up inside. If I want to become a better person it starts inside of me not outside. I'm working them both together and learning as I go. For those people who hurt me they are just humans just like me. God loves me too just as much as he loves them. I need to stop holding on to years gone. I need to live in the present not the past. I need to set an example for my own children. I want the cycle of hurting ones children to end with me. I can't do that if I'm still allowing myself to be hurt however I can do that if I allow myself to heal. This was one of those healng moments.
Just a quick peak into my heart!

Paint or no Paint
Above is a picture of me with no make Up. I have been thinking a lot about the impact no make up selfies on social media have on society. First off most girls feel like they have to paint their face to be beautiful. That is what we are brought up to think. Every one around us does it, and we watched our mom do it before she stepped foot out of the house. Every tabloid has pictures of girls with Tons of make up on and that's what we are supposed to look like to be beautiful right?? MYTH BUSTED! No.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MAKEUP! I love lipstick. I sold Mary Kay for a few years. Besides the fact that I could barely make any money, I LOVED it. I love dolling girls up, I love using beauty products. But I also have to take time to remind myself that I am beautiful the way I am. Make up or no. Hair done or not. Not just beautiful because God made me a masterpiece,(which is true) but beautiful because I am gorgeous. Some times I need to boost my self confidence in letting my natural face shine. Boots other girls self confidence by not trying to out do them in beauty products...Not that "Whos the most beautiful" is a competition? right? Unfortunately, us women are some how ingrained to compare our selves to the women around us. And we unconsciously rate our beauty by how beautiful the woman next to is. (There are facts about this). Really we do. And really we need to STOPPITT!
So here's a few picture of the all natural me in case all the make-uped selfies caused you to forget. Remember next time you look in the mirror right after you got up, or washed your face. Your gorgeous just the way you are! You are beautiful. I am by no means dissing make up, because it has its uses. Just maybe not to be used every day. Those spots or blemishes you have are a signature God gave you. They make you unique. They make you, you. No matter what the hatters think, you don't need make up to be stunning!
I'll even post the worst cherry faced gym selfie I could find, just to say that Yes my face turns red as a beat when I work out. No I not going to care. Be self confident. Give your self a little more credit. Stop down grading how you look or portray yourself because you are awesome paint or no paint. btw all that down grading is not really healthy for you. So Girls you need to STOPPIT!
XOXO
